Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Wisconsin

Here is the short story to a long mess...I run an indy wrestling promotion based in Foutain city wi ..I had sent a " worker " wrestler a sum of money and bought the air fair/ ticket to fly into my show..Well believe it or not the " name" didn't show up....We called him all day to see if his ride missed him and he never answered...I was in contact with him via yahoo messaging and have saved the ones that said he would pay me back, and the ones that said he did send payment but I honestly did not get or that he actually never sent.Is there anyway to get my money back from him since I am located in Wisconsin and the person in question is in Georgia..Please help

You can certainly sue him for breach of contract, possibly even from WI where the contract was presumably made. However, the next step of collecting on the judgment can be far more difficult, although simply having a docketing judgment on file will put continued pressure on the debtor to pay by acting as a lien against real estate in any WI county where the judgment is docketed, showing up on credit reports, allowing you to garnishee paychecks, etc. You need to consult with an experienced collection attorney ASAP.
