in wisconsin, can a hospital turn your bill over to a collection agency if you have been paying monthly payments and have been keeping in touch with them and telling them the person is not back to work because of medical reasons?and a insurance is still pending the case.

Yes, unfortunately, there is no requirement that hospitals or any other creditors give a dissabled person extra time to pay before proceeding with collection once a bill is past due. However, many of them do have their own private policies in that regard. You also may have valid defenses available to the collection if you timelly dispute the claim. finally medical bills are 100 percent dischargeable in bankruptcy. You should therefore immediately have a discussino with an experienced banrkuptcy attorney.
