Wisconsin Marital Laws and Debt

I am considering marrying a man who filed bankruptcy with his former wife. This was done at the time of their divorce in 2001. How will this affect my credit and am I liable for any debt he incured prior to our marriage?

This should not effect your credit history in the least, and you cannot be held liable for any of those debts. But take care of your family spending, once you’re married!
