Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

I have 3 felony uttering forgery charges pending on me. The person I got the checks from told me that I wouldn't get in trouble and that he does it all the time. He told me that his friend gave him the checks and said his friend knew the person whose name was on the checks. I needed a quick buck and cashed one while the others didn't go through. But some detectives interrupted my job and informed me that the person on the checks was robbed. I had a hard to processing and paying attention due to me not being medicated for ADHD and processing delay issues. I am remorseful for all the checks I naively signed off on and the damages caused, but I don't believe I should be a felon with my intelligence and ambitious future I have planned ahead of me.

You urgently need an experienced criminal lawyer. I have no idea what you signed, but if you were suffering from a mental disorder and on strong medication when you signed it, you may have a chance to get it suppressed in court. Believing that you had permission to use the checks is also a potentially viable defense, even if your version does not seem very credible so far. Stating your defenses on a public website is the worst possible way to formulate them, since police officers have computers too and can easily trace your statements here back to your specific case so as to use them against you. Your goal of avoiding a felony is a good one, since it will indeed hold you back for life in all of your employment goals, but a "happy ending" for you without strong counsel early in the case seems unlikely.
