Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin
Age of Consent for Wisconsin
We just found out my 17 year old niece is pregnant. She was 16 when she had sex and got pregnant by a 20 year old. What is the age of consent for sex in Wisconsin and could this be considered statutory rape even if she consented? Her parents aren't sure what to do and are be side themselves over this situation.

Re: Age of Consent for Wisconsin
Dear ?
"948.09 Sexual intercourse with a child age 16 or older. Whoever has sexual intercourse with a child who is not the defendants spouse and who has attained the age of 16 years is guilty of
a Class A misdemeanor.
History: 1987 a. 332."
I believe this statute answers your question.
