Tazering an Uncooperative Suspect
Officers are authorized to use reasonable force to conduct a lawful arrest. It is therefore extremely common for uncooperative suspects to be "tazered." If you son refused to leave the water, a court might conclude that tazing him may have been safer than having the officers go in after him and risk a struggle which could possibly result in a drowning.
