Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

Hello, I am an avid knife collector and I am under the age of eight teen I was wondering if it was legal for me to carry a knife in a sheath in public. For example My knifes blade is seven inches long with a handle of five inches long. Is this legal or will I be breaking the law?

Regardless of legality, the open carry of a weapon is likely to get you charged with disorderly conduct at minimum if you are carrying it in an urban setting where carrying weapons is not the norm (as opposed to a public hunting area, for example). Parental accompaniment may also be required in order to lawfully possess a weapon if you are a minor or have not completed hunter's safety training.

Normally, paying restitution or damages is an admission of guilt of sorts, but they are offering not to consider it as such. Since this is not coming from a court but rather a private lawfirm, it normally would not become a part of your court record which might be checked by potential employers later. However, the underlying shoplifting would be public record and could be accessed during a pre-employment background check. If you value your future employability and clean record, you should therefore retain an experienced defense lawyer to handle that matter, rather than the civil damages demand.
