Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin
caught with one pot plant
what are the penalties for having one pot plant. It was about 6in tall?

Penalties for Growing a Single Pot Plant
Unfortunately, any time a person is growing marijuana it puts them in a category similar to dealing drugs rather than simple possession, since growing is considered "manufacturing." Two hundred grams or less, or 4 or fewer plants equals a class I felony, exposing somebody without any record to up to 18 months in prison along with huge fines and property forfeitures. Persons with previous felonies or numerous misdemeanor convictions can add five years to that sentence. You therefore need to locate and consult with an experienced criminal lawyer as soon as possible. My comments here are of a general nature and not intended as legal advice for you unless you subsequently retain me; you really need to locate and consult with your own attorney.
