Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

Charging decision

About 6 weeks ago my husband and i were arrested, i was charged with DC 947.01 and my husband with DC 947.01 and Battery 940.19(1).. we were relesed on bond, on the bond document it says that the next court date is to be determind be court. We called a few days after the arrest they said they were deciding to charge or not.

My qustion is how low can the court and or DA wait to charge/prosecute?

its really getting to me, being in this legel limbo and not know when its going to end. Thank you for your time.

They have 3 years. Hire a criminal defense attorney to advocate for you with the DA. It will cost you, but if the attorney can assist the prosecutor in deciding not to charge you or into charging ordinance violations he or she is worth every penny you pay them.
