Yes, any sex related felony (as well as some misdemeanors) will usually require sex offender registration. If one is ever placed on probation or parole of sent to prison, the department of corrections will usually require sex offender registration. If no prison or probation is ordered (i.e. a sentence of county jail or a fine only), some offenses may not necessarily require registration, although the judge can still order it at sentencing, often depending upon whether or not the DA recommends it. This issue should therefore be dealt with during plea negotiations (impossible, however, to negotiate such an issue of you go to trial, in all likelihood resulting in mandatory registration upon conviction). Since indecent exposure is usually a misdemeanor, you may be wrong about what you were actually convicted of. You therefore need to either discuss these issues with your attorney or retain an experienced criminal lawyer to guide you in the matter, since you do not provide enough information for me to assist you here. My comments in this public web forum are intended only for public educational purposes and are not legal advice specifically for you. Instead, you should retain a lawyer in order to meet your legal needs since I will be taking no action on your case.
