Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin
Can a Drug Conviction be Expunged
I was convicted of possession of marijuana. The incident happened in Wisconsin. During this time I was eighteen years old and a high school student visiting friends on campus. I recently started a new job which provides ample opportunities for promotions. I am also a college student (who has obtained honors) and anticipate graduating within the next two years. Unfortunately, my drug conviction will surely hinder opportunities for future advancement in any field or job I wish to move up in. This is the only incident on my record relating to drugs. Since then I have been convicted of misdemeanor traffic violations (such as expired plates) along with driving without a license. I have no records of violent activity and pose no threat to my community. I have heard of the ability to expunge a conviction, especially if it is drug related and if the incident happened prior to me turning 21. Both of these circumstances apply to me. Is this possible, based on the limited information I have provided? If so, how much would it cost me? Thank you

Re: Can a Drug Conviction be Expunged
Based on what you described you qualify for expungment and would probably get it if this is the only conviction you have. The prices vary, depending on the quality of counsel - anywhere from $1000 to $5000, I would estimate.
