Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin
Emergency Room charges
Mr. A was arrested and while in jail, the police suspected the prisoner to be holding drugs in his mouth. The police did not find any drugs in his mouth, but then proceeded to send him to the emergency room to get his stomach pumped to check for more drugs. Again, they found no signs of drugs. What is the Wisconsin state statute that would cover this situation? and who is liable for paying for the emergency room bill?
