Expungment of Felony Records, Gubenatorial Pardons

Unfortunately, courts in WI have no legal authority to remove felony convictions from a person's record. The governor, however, does have that authority, via an executive pardon. These are rarely granted and then only to persons with exemplary records of public service and no criminal involvement over at least a decade or two. Having the right attorney can greatly improve your odds of getting a pardon, the issuance of which is essentially a political process. Meanwhile, you should involve yourself in public service activities such as becoming an AA sponsor or being active in religious or service group projects which help the disadvantaged, and maintain a perfect work record, even if it only doing minimum wage jobs. This is all part of the price of a felony conviction, which is a very difficult hole to dig one�s way out of. You should also discuss all this with an experienced attorney.
