Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

If someone is facing felony thc delivery and felony bail jumping and a few misdemeanors how long do they have to plead out(already pleaded not guilty)? Can they plead out the day before the trial? Also if they take a plea deal what are they looking at?

Do not make a decision on when or whether to plead out without the advice of an experienced criminal lawyer. DA's sometimes put deadlines on plea offers, so you may lose your offer if you wait too long. You also do not make friends in the court system or prosecutor's office by waiting until the last minute after witnesses have been subpoenad and jurors summoned in. Although there is never a deadline to plead guilty, timing is quite often everything in the criminal justice process. Multiple charge situations are always plea bargaining situations, so do not miss this opportunity if it is your intent to eventually plead out. Every county has different customs and expectations in this regard as well, so it is important to get a seasoned local lawyer who appears often in your particular court.
