Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

Having a felony conviction taken off my record

In 1999 I was convicted of three felony charges dealing with perscription drugs. I have followed my probabation and am looking at early release. How can I get my name cleared so I can be free to travel and vote? I want to move to Perth Australia, but I don't know what their laws are concerning prior felons. I also need to know the laws for renewing my passport in regard to this issue. Please, I need your help. Time is of the essence.

Re: Having a felony conviction taken off my record

You need to retain an attorney. Unless the

DA or prosecuting agency agrees to reopen

your conviction, the only way to remove a

felony conviction is an application to the

Governor for a pardon. If you want to be

successful in such an application, literally

years of preparation are necessary. I doubt

if anything can happen for you in a hurry.

I don't know without research how such a

conviction effects getting a passport--I'd

try calling the State Department on that

one. I have done these succesfully in the past.

send me a private e-mail if you are interested.
