Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin
I have a felony from 2000(credit card theft). Am I ever allowed to have a gun or no?
1 Answer from Attorneys
No, a convicted felon can never possess a weapon, at least not in the United States, unless the conviction is reopened or pardoned by both state and federal authorities. Even being in a location where guns are kept can potentially get you into trouble. If you want to try to reopen your case, you need to consult with an experienced criminal lawyer. My comments in the public web forum are not legal advice, but are instead provided solely for purposes of public education. No attorney client relationship is created because I have responded to your question. However, you are welcome to contact my office in Racine, WI, to make necessary arrangements to retain me.
