How many years do I have to list a felony on a job application? Mine is almost 13 years old.

Re: felony and employment laws

Although it becomes pretty "old news" after that long,

a felony conviction will always exist on your record

unless you are pardoned by the Governor. Application for such a

pardon is a major undertaking which takes years and for which you should

retain an attorney. There is a law against discrimination due to criminal convictions in Wisconsin,

unless the conviction is somehow related to your ability to perform the

job. This means that an honesty related conviction could, for example,

disqualify you from a position of trust.
