Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin
If someone files a false police report with numerous false details that can be validated as lies, what happens to the report? And if serious charges are pending now on the accused, yet the accused is innocent what happens if the truth comes out the report is very false?

The answer is that a false report sales through the legal system as the truth unless someone spends the time and energy to contest it via a trial. Unfortunately, trials are altogether too rare, meaning that the truthfulness of many reports is never challenged. False reports therefore often result if official action, including imprisonment, for the unfortunately victims of the perjury. For this reason, few things are more important than an experienced, aggressive lawyer representing you any time that you have important matters pending before any court system. My comments here are not legal advice, nor do they create an attorney client relationship between us.
