Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin
Hello,
I am being harassed by my mom and sister (for years). Through verbal harassment. I have not been physically harmed, but I have been threatened via death threats (killing) and have been suffering from strong emotional stress: By my own relatives. The harassment continues through facebook where my mother spreads lies to many of my relatives, proffessors, and friends: Ruining relationships and career opprutunities.
I have also been endangered by her while in a car while she has been intoxicated (from previous years and months). She is an alcoholic driver and is verbally harassive.
She provides no support to my life and claims that she has. She monopolized child support from my dad for mybrother and I for herself which is about $500 a month and never used a penny to help us. She contributes nothing to my college funding and has kicked me out of her home when I had no alternatives.
Her harassment is pushing me to suicide.
I am dead serious when I say that I am not the cause of the problems, she does not listen and I cannot find a counciler to talk to her.
I want to know everything that the law can do to help me keep her away from me.
She is potentially dangerous.
She is a harm to my future life.
I do not want her anywhere near me, nor able to contact me. I never want to see her.
There is no love from her.
I want any help.
A restraining order - anything.
She has animals that I fear may be injured because of her alcoholic ways. And I am terrified for the neighbors pets outdoors when she drives home intoxicated.
Please Help,
Ian Burr

I am concluding that you are an adult rather than a minor, since you speak about college professors and career opportunities, and you obviously feel a need for outside assistance with your family issues. I would therefore recommend that you seek assistance from any of the many "quality of life" institutions in your community, such as your church or other worship center. Many congregations employ staff with professional counseling credentials or, at minimum, extensive experience in dealing with issues like yours, and will do so at no cost to you. If that will not work for you, start with your local department of Human Resources or Social Services, or, just look in the yellow pages under counseling. Then, with the help of a professional, you should start to come up with some sort of an intervention plan for your mother, as well as for yourself in case you need anti-depressant or other medication. These comments are intended solely for public educational purposes and are not legal advice for you.
