Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin
haunted by record
In 1977 I was covicted of operating w/o owners consent, a felony. At the time my public defender asked the judge to sentence me under the youthful offender act so this record would not follow me for the rest of my life. I've recently discovered that this is still on my record and this informatiom is available to anyone with internet access.
I also suspect that I have been denied some jobs because of this information.
How can I get this off my record as it was originaly ordered by the judge? All help appreciated.

Re: haunted by record
My advice would be to retain an attorney to research
and investigate this matter thoroughly. Off the
top of my head, I believe that the law you
refer to has since been been repealed. Discovering the
state of the law in existence when you were convicted
may be half the battle. It may also prove difficult
and require advanced research skills.
