Re: jail time

Take a look at section 948.01 (1) of the Wisconsin Statutes. A child is defined as anyone under the age of 18. If you go to section 948.09 "Sexual Intercourse with a child age 16 or older" you will see that it says "Whoever has sexual intercourse with a child who is not the defendant's spouse and who has attained the age of 16 years is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor."

A Class A misdemeanor carries with it a maximum penalty of 9 months in Jail and /or a $10,000 fine.

So the answer to your question is- Yes it is a crime, you will face a criminal conviction, and you can get up to 9 months in jail plus a $10,000 fine for it.
