Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

I kicked my boyfriend of 5 years of my house (which I own). in April this year. Now he is sueing me because he remodeled the inside of a garage that was on my property when I bought it. Now he is sueing me for $5000 for what it cost for him to finish off the inside of that garage which he put his stuff in and worked in on projects. Can he actually sue me for this?

Yes, anyone can sue in the United States, even if they do not have a good reason to do so, just like you have a right through your lawyer to fight the suit if you disagree about owing the money. If you do nothing, however, he will win by default and get whatever he is asking for from the court. Even without a contract, persons performing work on real estate have many rights including the ability to place construction liens on the property or sue for the value of services.

Do not assume that I am your attorney because of my response here. Call my office in Racine (262-633-3090 for clarifications or additional arrangements, but short of that, I will not be taking any action on your case.
