Obstruction Charges--Odds for Reduction to Ordinance Violation
It is sometimes possible to have obstructing charges reduced, depending upon the facts and history. The DA here takes a tough stand on both resisting and obstructing charges and will often not reduce them unless there are proof problems. It is therefore impossible for any attorney to advise you without knowing more of the facts (as well as your record) because some obstructing charges are harder to prove than others. The government will also take a much tougher stance for defendants who have prior records. You therefore need to retain an attorney as soon as possible so that he or she can begin to gather the facts--no attorney can intelligently estimate your odds of getting a reduction without this information.
