Felon in Possession of a Firearm--Life in Prison is Possible in Federal System
There are literally dozens of different laws which could apply to this situation, so I cannot answer your question. However, the worst case scenario for such a person would be various federal laws which provide for up to life imprisonment, depending upon the defendant's record and many other factors. If you tell me which statute you are charged under, I might be better able to assist. One bit of advice I can give, however, is that you need to retain an experienced criminal attorney who has felony expertise as soon as possible.
