Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

Possession w/ Intent and Probabtion

I was arressted in Wisconsin at the recent Grateful Dead reunion with 49.2 grams of marijuana separatd into 12 or so 3.5 gram baggies. I was charged with possession with intent to deliver THC. I am on probation in Michigan for an Impaired Driving ticket. My probation period ends on Oct 29, 2002. I report by mail. Nothing has come up about being on probation yet in court in Wisconsin. I did have permission to leave the state from my PO. I have only been to a continuance hearing so far but I posted $2000 bond. Do I have to notify my Michigan PO of this incident or will I get by without telling her? If I postpone the whole pre-trial past the end of my probabtion period, will this help? What are the chances of getting this felony reduced to a misdemeanor? I have never had any prior offenses at all besides for the impaired driving ticket. Does Wisconsin and Michigan share this kind of information or is there a chance that I will be able to get by without reporting this incident to my probation officer??

Thank You.

Re: Possession w/ Intent and Probabtion

I can't advise you to lie to your probation officer. Was a condition of your probation no interaction with law enforcement or no conviction? BIG DIFFERENCE. Please feel free to contact my office to discuss your matter further. (866) M I C H D U I or www.michdui.com
