Prison Time for Felony Fleeing an Officer
It is unclear whether you are asking about flight on foot or flight in a vehicle. Flight in a vehicle is a felony punishable by prison for up to ten years if anyone was hurt. If nobody was hurt or gravely endangered, the maximum can go as low as 18 months in prison. There are also large fines, loss of license, and forfeiture of vehicle options. Vehicle owners are also liable for these penalties for fleeing an officer if the driver escapes. There are inumerable variations of these laws, each with a different penalty. Fleeing on foot alone is normally a nine month misdemeanor.
