Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

Probation and Parole officers

my ex husband has been twice convicted of domestic violence. After serving 5 and a half years in prison he has been out for almost 2 years. He now is serving the rest of his time on parole. One of the conditions is that he cannot have contact with me. He has requested to be able to begin having contact with me because we do have a child in common (the child is not his natural child but the only father she has ever known). The parole agent has stated on many ocassions that she will never allow us to have contact she even went as far as to say ''Over my dead body will you ever have contact with your ex wife''. My fear is that if she finds out that we are speaking she will jail him for the rest of his time which is 2 years. My question is does she really have this much power to keep people apart? My ex has participated in 10-15 different anger management classes, has obeyed every rule of parole and still has not been allowed a second chance. Is there anything that I or we can do about this? Besides going over her head, because they are all on the same side. Thanks for your time.

Yes, PO's do have that much power (and more!!) and the only way around it is to go over their heads. You correctly point out that they are all on the same side and it is unlikely to do any good. As for your contact, that could be grounds for revocation no matter the friendly nature of the contact. I strongly advise not risking it.
