Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin
Probation and Restitution
I have a friend who has been on probation/parole since 1973. He was discharged on March 10, 2000. He was supposed to pay resitiution, but did not. His probation officer has not filed any paper work for issuing a warrant. Does this mean that now that he is off probation, he has no risk of being revoked or put into jail for failure to pay his restitution? Put in short, is he in the clear?

Re: Probation and Restitution
I would say that one is never in the clear as to failure to obey a court order. I would run a warrant check. Call me at my office number if you want assitance.
