Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

Question on a encounter

hello- I am asking a question on something odd, I was going to meet a man for a discrete encounter at a hotel I backed out cause I could not do it and he is telling me he has a lawyer and I have to pay him for the room now. Is that true that he can make me?

Hotel Bills for Broken Promise to Meet for an Encounter in WI

Assuming that you protect your rights, I would be surprised if this scenario would lead to a court judgment if you were sued over it, since sexual conduct cannot legally form the basis for an enforceable contract in WI (since such a contract would probably constitute illegal prostitution). Such a contract, if it could even be proven to exist, may also be unenforceable due to being contrary to public policy. You should therefore consult with an experienced lawyer if the proposed sexual partner seriously pursues this. However, as with any claim, if you do not protect your rights and allow a default judgment to be taken against you, even the silliest claim can lead to a legally enforceable obligation. My comments here are not intended as legal advice unless I am subsequently retained on the case in question.
