Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

questions about getting papers served for restraining order

i recently moved out of state, and was told that a sheriff was trying to serve me papers, so i used the wisconsin criminal record search online, and found out it was for a restraining order/ domestic abuse.

what im mainly wondering is if i wil have a warrant if they cant serve the papers to me?

and also, it says the court day isnt mandatory shown with a () on the website. so im wondering if the sheriff was trying to serve the actual restraining order to me, if ill be in any trouble, or have fees owed to courts/person filing the order. i dont have a phone right now, otherwise i would have just called the courts and found out that way.

i really hope someone can help me out here.

It would be unconscionable for anyone to attempt to advise you without checking to see exactly what sort of lawsuit this is. If it is a criminal case, a warrant could indeed be issued for your arrest. If it is simply a civil retraining order, there would need to be some sort of violation before an arrest attempt would be made. You really need legal representation. Good luck.
