records

friend just starting nursing but had arrest of possession of marijuana in 1974 in wisconsin and he has to get criminal check in that state when he graduates, will this still be on his record in 2004? never went to court but was fingerprinted and mug shot.

Unless the record was expunged your friend can assume that it exists and is accessible to the public. Because it is rather old it may not have been reported to your state's department of justice.

You can check thru the department of justice and the following web site gives information about the process.

If there was no conviction you may be able to get the record removed.
