rights of the disabled that may be not there

need help to figure out how to get my son a lawyer, he is learning disabled and has a comprehenion problem and is looking at 60 years in prison, may not be understanding of what he is up against andsounds like the state doesn't have much in defense my son could be refusing legal assistance and there fore i haven't been able to get much information from anyone at the jail or the d.a.s office how can i go over his head and get him help

Courts frequently appoint "standby" counsel

for prisoners who refuse assistance. If you

are unhappy with his appointed counsel, you

need to retain a private attorney.
