Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin

Suspected shoplifting

I was stopped outside a store for allegedly shoplifting lotion. Upon a search by a police officer, it was discovered I had no lotion on my person; so, subsequently was chared with shoplifting Christmas light bulb replacements. I had 3 in my pocket from a shopping trip the previous week. How do I fight this stupid thing?

Re: Suspected shoplifting

The arresting agency will be required to prove the case during a trial, and the case will be thrown out if the Judge believes that they have failed to do so. The trial will generally be the last of several court dates following your denial of the charges. Good luck.
