Re: Theft? Please define.
The theft statute these days has become pretty complex, with many rather different subsections. All generally involve exercising some form of control over the property of another with intent to permanently deprive and without consent. I would need to know the details in terms of under which subsection they've charged you, and the supporting facts they've alleged before I could explain anything to you. Please feel free to send a private e-mail to [email protected], or call my office tomorrow at 262-633-3090. As usual, my blanket advice is to retain a lawyer before making any significant decisions in the matter, especially the decision whether or not to give a statement to the authorities, as opposed to claiming your Fifth Amendment right to remain silent. Good luck!
