You really need to consult with an attorney immediately. If they have any kind of a case against you, your lawyer may recommend negotiating up front with them, before government authorities are involved. Many companies will not go to the authorities if the money is paid back or other negotiated settlement occurs, in order to spare themselves the adverse publicity of having hired a thief. Such negotiations are extremely tricky, however, since they look like an admission of guilt which might be used against you in a criminal case unless certain precautions are taken. This is not intended as legal advice; you really need to get your own lawyer.
