Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wisconsin
I had a warrant put out for me in Wisconsin in 2011 for issuing $450 of bad checks . I didn't know about the warrant because in 2010 I moved to Oklahoma and when I came back in November 2015 I was arrested . The $450 dollars was paid but a court hearing was still set . I ended up missing it because I got a letter in the mail saying the charges had been dismissed and unfortunately it was from another county and I didn't realize . I guess I have another warrant and there's a bail/bond forfeiture hearing in June I don't know what that means or what I should do ?

Your attorney could attend a civil bond forfeiture without to explain your error. However, resolving the bond forfeiture while likely not resolve the criminal case, so the warrant will remain active until you return to WI to take care of it, unless your attorney can also negotiate a resolution (which sometimes would not require you to return if in less serious cases). Hire a local attorney as soon as possible if you want to solve your problem.
