If a person goes to court and is found guilty of a 1st offence dui,and the case is then closed,can the court turn around and charge them with a 3rd offence for the same offence.Isn't this double jeopardy?

yes under this scenario. However, it would not stop the court from using the conviction in the first case as an enhancement if there was another DWI pending depenpendent upon when the second DWI occurred. You need to go talk with a good DWI attorney in your area.
