DUI in Minnesota but live in Wisconsin
Hi I recieved my 1st ever DUI in Minnesota and have been told that it will not affect my WI driver's license and will not have to have SR22 insurance(high risk). Is this true? Will I lose my license in WI or only in Minnesota? Or both?

DUI in Minnesota but live in Wisconsin, OWI, Drunk Driving 1st
A MN conviction will definitely count toward future offenses in WI no matter what the effect on your WI license, meaning that your next WI DUI would be a second offense (up to six months jail). I am more familiar with our IL reciprocity situation, since I practice between Milwaukee and Chicago. However, I would take an educated guess that we also have reciprocity with MN and that a MN revocation entry will prompt a WI revocation as well. You need to retain an experienced MN DUI lawyer as soon as possible in order to seriously address this gravely serious issue. If you have trouble locating one, I would be happy to assist.
