OWI Arrest Officer Reporting Errors in

If you decide to fight this arrest and the officer is called by the government as a as a witness against you, a good criminal attorney can use errors in his reports or errors on the citation to challenge his credibility. However, a 15 minute error might not be an error at all due to the issue of whose watch was more accurate. Odds are that the time when the officer called in your stop to his dispatcher will be deemed the correct time of the stop, since that time in generated automatically in the dispatch computer's printout. Meticulous officers will check their report against the dispatch printout and correct it if necessary.
