Unless you refused to consent to the test, on a first offense OWI in WI, one is immediately eligible for an occupational license after the administrative suspension for the drunk driving takes effect. Fines and court costs average around $1000 for a first offense in WI, and it is difficult to get them reduced below that amount. A good attorney, however, could possibly get you an installment agreement to pay the fine over a year or more if you are convicted. Of course, if you are found not guilty, there is no fine. My comments here are not intended as legal advice, not to create an attorney client relationship.
