Underage DUI
Recently I got pulled over for drinking and driving in Milwaukee Co. (I blew a .17). I'm 19 years old with a clean record, and I'm a full time student working very hard to finish school so my main concern is how a DUI charge on my record will affect getting a job in the future, as well as the enormous fines that came with the tickets. I'm wondering if hiring a lawyer would be my best option and since that will be a big expense I don't want to waste money if it won't benefit me.

Underage DUI OWI, Effects of Conviction on Employability
DUI convictions are public record in WI and many employers will check your record when you apply for a job with them. Depending upon the nature of the job, the conviction could certainly effect your chances of being hired, particularly for jobs which involve driving. You should definitely consult with a lawyer as soon as possible before deciding whether or not to fight the OWI. A lawyer may spot defenses which are not immediately apparent to you. More than one conviction is likely to mark you as an alcoholic and gravely effect your employability. My comments here are not legal advice, nor do they create any attorney client relationship between us. In any events, I do not know nearly enough about your specific case to advise you.
