What are my son's legal rights in Public Middle School ???

I want to know whether or not it is legal for a member of the faculty in our local school district to come into my home without my permission. I was at work, it was after 7pm. She talked to my son for over one half hour, he was very upset, as she said to him ''It's o.k. to shed your tears. '' I have a letter confirming this visit after I wrote the school principal objecting. Also, if the school sends me a letter telling me thay shall send me a weekly update and does not, what are the laws concerning a students rights to a fair and decent education? Please help me. Thank-you!

No enough information to really comment. Why was the school person at the home? What was your child upset about? Is there a question of residency? truancy? child abuse?
