guardianship problem
I am 1 of 6 kids.our father beat us all; 3 of the 4girls were VERY abused-even lending us to his friends.parents divorced 34 yrs ago-we thought father was dead-NO contact ever. our oldest bro.last yr. found &befriended him. currently he's in a nurs. hm.-Dr's say he has dementia & poss. alzheimers. bro.& a neighbor each want guardianship. our bro.has stolen,lied, & ripped us off etc.- also refused to tell court&lawyers our names,addresses,& info.-they gave him a ct. order to get info.we don't want bro. or neighbor in this--we (3) want the state,Wi. to deal w/father. bro. said estate has sm. hse,car,truck, 10K.we don't trust bro. Q: is there a way to divide estate 6 WAYS- And have state take over care. we DO NOT want to care for this person and prefer he be in a state facility. there are more Horrible things our father did and we feel NO obligation to him - court hearing is fri. feb 1 - in Wi.- 4 of us are in Il.

You need a WI attorney. But there are ways to split assets, but your father has to qualify for state aid. Assuming he does, then make sure you are present at the hearing and prevent your brother from lying or misleading the court.
