attorney usage

my spouse has sued me for divorce (wisconsin). the attorney he has hired is one that I previously had hired for my son's name change a few yrs. ago. How can he use an attorney that I have already done business with? is this legal?

If the attorney helps an opposing party with a case that is not substantially similar to or has nothing to do with the matter with which the attorney previously helped you, there's nothing wrong with it (ethically or otherwise).
