change of name minor

My minor child lives in wisc and I objected to his last name to be changed, the court has now set a new court date, what happens now?

they will hold a hearing, which you need to attend to present your objections to the judge. the judge will then make a decision, either at the hearing, or shortly thereafter by issuing a written opinion. if you fail to appear in court and present your objections, then the name change petition will likely be granted.
