child custody

my children live in wisconsin and I live in IL what state would I need to get a lawyer from? Is there a way to do this at a low cost? What things do a judge look for when placing a child?

If you file, you can file in Illinois. The judge will look at the best interest of the children.....how long have they lived in Wisconsin and why should they move to Illinois would be good questions......is she a bad mother..or is it you just want custody
