Legal Question in Family Law in Wisconsin

Child placement

My wife moved out with the kids ages 13, 12 & 3 when I was at work. They do not want to stay with her. I need to know if I can move them back legally? No separation papers have been filed, I am trying to reconcile but she has a new male ''friend''. I own my house she moved to a small 2 bedroom apt. The kids hate it. They are in the same school district just take a different bus now. I am lost as to what my legal options are, she left my finances in ruin.

So I can't afford a retainer on a lawyer at this time. But first priority is to get the kids home, I just want to know if I can do it legally and how to go about it. Please Help. Thank you.

Thank you.

Re: Child placement

Hello,

There are no legal options unless you file for divorce, other than if she is not taking adequate care of the children, in which you can

file a complaint with social services, child division. If you file for divorce, you can also set up an initial hearing at which time the court would decide on a temporary basis where the children should stay, etc. Maybe you can find someone who can help you with the forms and not charge much for that service. There are people who do that. Best wishes, Mark J. Mahoney
