Legal Question in Family Law in Wisconsin

Child Support Reduction

Hi, I am divorced from Wisconsin, and the payer for the Child Support of four kids. I am back on my payments, but now getting them paid now, because I am working. My ex-wife is living with her parents or her parents takes care of my kids. They are living out of state in Minnesota. I am wondering if I can reduce my child support because of that.

Re: Child Support Reduction

Hello,

Child support obligations exist regardless of whether the children are living in a place where there is a mortgage, rent, or no rent. The children still need support, even if rent is not an issue right now, and even if mother gets help with childcare. If the mother gets a high paying job, you might have a chance. The fact that you are behind in support also works against you. Dont rely upon this general information, however, I dont know your complete facts and often my advice can be different if I meet with a client and find out. Thank, Mark J. Mahoney
