Child Support

If a child turned 18 in May of 2000 and will be attending college in the Fall of 2000, is she eligible for child support until the age of 19?

Read Sec. 767, Wis. Stats. pertaining to support.

Absent an order or a stip, generally, after hs graduation it stops if the child is 18. So it is the payor's responsibility to straighten everything out in the courthouse. This is assuming there are no arrears. Yes it is the payor's problem to take care of everything. No, the courthouse will not necessarily take care of this automatically. Payor should contact a family lawyer to take care of this or to a walk-in or file a motion in the courthouse. Piece of cake.
