Emancipation

Can a minor be emancipated by a written agreement between the minor and parent?

Parents cannot seek to emancipate a child. My understanding of emancipation is that the minor child is seeking to change his legal status. He does that by a written agreement, yes, but it's between the minor and the court. The minor petitions the court to be emancipated. The court wants to see at least two proofs -- that he has completed high school or a specific plan to complete, and that he can support himself.
